Spiced Pea Pulao:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Fresh dhaniya patti, for garnish
Instructions:
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes, then drain.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for another minute.
- Add garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add frozen peas and cook for 2-3 minutes until they are partially cooked.
- Add drained basmati rice and mix gently until the rice is coated with spices.
